Congratulations to all

What a success!!! Room 2’s two teams fought it out and combined earned $154.60 profit from the sale of the cookies.
On reflection the children were surprised how much of the curriculum they had covered. Oral language was a big part of the challenge with a lot of conversation between teams but also to customers that were looking to buy. A calculator was never far away to calculate budgets for cookies which was incorporated with ICT as they looked through the Countdown website to work out what they could afford at the price desired. Recipes were also located online and surveys were handed out to find out what biscuits were popular.
Some of our talented artists were hard at work creating signage and posters to advertise the biscuits and some were creating packaging that was appealing to the eye of the customer.
An incredibly successful 4 weeks from start to finish with both teams doing themselves very proud.
We learnt everything from hygiene to advertising to selling to success and all with only 1 broken cup.
We hope you enjoy the slideshow.

The Big Shop!!!

On the 8th November the 2 CEO's headed off to gather the ingredients with their budgets of $30. They were under strict instructions from the other members of their teams not to forget any ingredients. As you can calculators were essential to keep track of the price.
It was up to them to tell Mr D who was driving them around where they needed to go.
Here are some photos of their experience at the supermarket.

YOU'RE FIRED!!!

Together Everybody Achieves More.... Is our topic for this term and Room 2 have started the Room 2 version of The Apprentice. Mr D obviously filling in for the hugely successful Donald Trump.
The class has been split into 2 teams. The Biscuiteers who have Hine as their CEO and The Goody Goody Cookie Company who have Timmy as their CEO.
The 2 teams have 3 groups within each. The Design Team who create the packaging, The Making Team who locate recipes and make the product and the Advertising Team which promotes the product.
The challenge for the teams is to create a biscuit to promote and sell.
The budget is $30 for each company which must be spent on ingredients, packaging and signage.
Watch this space to see their progress.

Book Week

It has been an exciting week at Netherby School with the annual book week taking place. Room 2 was lucky enough to read with Room 4 who showed us some amazing reading. Also a big thank you to Hoopz from Classic Hits who came in and told us stories about his time in radio and how important reading was in his profession.
Here are some photos from our Book Character and Grandparents Day.
