BREAKING NEWS

Today Room 1 and 2 went over to the hall to practise their choir songs for Celebration of Learning day today. We were sounding amazing when smoke began to fill the back of the stage. Josh was first to notice the smoke and Neke shouted fire. We not so calmly made our way out of the hall while Mr Leverton and Mr Dravitski grabbed the fire extinguisher and put out the fire. It seemed to be an electrical fault that caused the fire. Luckily it was noticed early enough and there was no chance for the fire to spread to the stage curtains. Miss Cruickshank made her way over to dial 111 and within a few minutes two big fire engines arrived along with about 6 firefighters. They checked over the hall while we stood and watched and took photos. Mr Leverton was checked over by the Ambulance because he had inhaled a lot of the fire extinguisher fire retardant foam smoke. In 6 months we have had an earthquake and now a fire. Hopefully our luck will change.

Acting Up

Last Friday Room 2 performed a number of skits in our Acting Up unit along with Room 4 to a large number of family members. Joshua performed some of his own material as a stand up comic. His material was excellent and included jokes and impressions. Aaron and Brendon performed there own mime routine and without speaking had the audience engaged and smiling. Ella and Alex were excellent presenters and spoke clearly and with excellent volume. Room 2 also performed a skit as a whole class and we must thank Mr Leverton for being such a great damsel in distress.
