Breaking News

Yesterday Netherby Dynamite had their Slow Pitch Softball final against Ashburton Borough.
It was a hard fought game in very hot temperatures. After 2 innings the scores were tied at 14-14.
In the third inning Netherby fielded first and with some excellent pitching from Timmy Vaevae and some superb fielding by Corbin Taylor, Neke, Kamoe and Elama Touli on the first base they restricted Borough to 3 runs.
Coming into bat Netherby started off slowly before Hine Wairepo superbly stroked the ball deep into the out field for a triple.
As our last batter Elama Touli came into bat the scores were all tied up at 17-17 and the bases were loaded with Tayla Love on first, Levi Bodie-Rouse on second and Neke Kamoe on third. Elama waited patiently for a good pitch and sprinted as he saw Neke and Levi both get home to win the game for Netherby 19-17.
A big thank you must be given to all the children, parents and supporters who have come down every week and we look forward to defending the trophy at the end of the year.

THE NEW BLOG

It is a new year and Room 2 has started a new blog.
We have had a busy start to Term 1 with lots of hard working kids coming back after the school holidays. Room 2 is a Year 6 class this year and are the seniors of the school. We have been trying hard to be role models in and out of the classroom demonstrating positive behaviours that Netherby School can be proud of.
Room 2 had one student arrive from Christchurch after her school was closed during the earthquake. Talia was here for 2 weeks and made lots of friends. Wednesday was her last day and Room 2 hopes everything is going well back at Westburn School.
